Her Story
A living archive of the names, lanes, and work that became Marion Renee.
Happy Women's Day!!!
Today, we honor a woman whose work reaches everyone — women, men, and children alike. Marion Renee is Women's History in motion.
She is a Black Native American woman of Blackfoot lineage, descended from the first people of this land. Her ancestry is mixed across tribal bloodlines, but her roots run deep in the soil her people walked long before America had a name.
Marion was raised in a family shaped by service, migration, and resilience. With a father in the Navy and a childhood that crossed coasts, she learned early how to build her own lane and stand firmly in her own name.
Her creative lineage began as Fufulinda, crafting mixed-media greeting cards filled with feathers, glitter, lashes, and joy. She evolved into Marion Renee Wearable Art, painting denim handbags, clutches, totes, and accessories. Then came Marion Renee Designs, where she continued shaping functional art for people who see themselves reflected in her hands.
For over 40 years, Marion's hands have also done the cultural work of tending to scalps, preserving locs, teaching cycles, and protecting crowns. Haircare has never been a trend for her — it is lineage, responsibility, and community knowledge passed down through generations.
She founded Skinvig to bring clarity to people's routines. Hormone-safe formulations. Real-world systems. A method built from lived practice. The Skinvig Way is her contribution to the long legacy of women who create structures that outlive them.
She claimed her title — San Diego Natural Haircare Coach — because a woman naming herself is history. A woman teaching her community is history. A woman building a method is history.
Marion's creativity is its own archive: Fufulinda. Marion Renee Wearable Art. Marion Renee Designs. Skinvig. Earthen Reminders. 7BeadsStudio. Whisper Leaf Smokes. Star Leap Media. YANA. She builds worlds. She leaves artifacts. She honors the people before her and the people beside her.
Marion Renee is not just part of Women's History. She is a woman making history — with work that reaches everyone.
